The Community Cupboard provides food, clothing, furniture and various household items to the less fortunate.  We are the largest provider in Eastern Montgomery County.  Along with the assistance of many volunteers, our founder and Executive Director, Mattie Dixon, has been helping those in need for over 30 years.

Individuals and families come to the Cupboard for assistance.  Some are referred and others come in response to publicity and word-of-mouth information.  All have incomes that are insufficient and fall below the poverty line.

In order to best serve our clients, we provide medical screenings and some counseling services.  We also do whatever we can to help those in emergency situations.

Our Mission

The Cupboard's mission is to keep families together by providing food, clothing, and other essential items and services to them.  We strive to help our clients get through tough times and to ultimately become self-sufficient.

Helping Hands

The Cupboard primarily exists because of the generosity of individuals, churches, schools, service organizations, government subsidies, and various corporations.

Because of this support, we are able to continue to increase the scope of our services and the number of clients assisted.  Donations and volunteers are always welcome.  The Community Cupboard is a great place to work!
